Test Discontinuation Memorandum

Effective April 21, 2014, the Medical Genetics Laboratories at Baylor College of Medicine will discontinue the following tests:

• Test Code 3105 – Complex IV (COX) Deficiency Panel – Nuclear Genes
• Test Code 3335 – mtDNA Depletion Panel, Hepatocerebral Form
• Test Code 3080 – Mitochondrial DNA Depletion Syndrome Panel
• Test Code 3620 – Nuclear Encoded Complex I Deficiency Panel

The tests will be replaced by the following comprehensive Next Generation Sequencing based tests:

• Test Code 2170 – Mitochondrial Respiratory Chain Complex IV Deficiency Panel by Massively Parallel Sequencing (BCM-MitomeNGS^SM)
• Test Code 2130 – mtDNA Depletion/Integrity Panel by Massively Parallel Sequencing (BCM-MitomeNGS^SM)
• Test Code 2155 – Mitochondrial Respiratory Chain Complex I Deficiency Panel by Massively Parallel Sequencing (BCM-MitomeNGS^SM)
