Temporary Test Discontinuation // CMA

Dear Valued Clients,

Thank you for your continued trust in Baylor Genetics as your genetic testing partner. As we continue to upgrade and refine our test menu and services, we want you to be the first to know about changes that may affect your testing experience with us.

In order to improve our clients’ testing experience, we are now accepting buccal swabs for the following Chromosomal Microarray Analysis (CMA) tests:

In order to streamline our operations, effective immediately our laboratory will temporarily stop offering the following CMA tests:

  • Test Code 8650: CMA – CytoScan HD SNP Array
  • Test Code 9515: Cancer CMA – CytoScan HD SNP Array – Tumor

Any samples received on or prior to Monday, April 13, 2020 will be processed and reported. Any orders for discontinued tests received after this date will be held pending communication with the referring provider to substitute another testing option.

For test code 8650, we recommend ordering test code 8665, CMA – HR + SNP Screen (Comprehensive). Note, if absence of heterozygosity (AOH) <10 Mb is desired, please let us know and we may provide this information in the report by performing a SNP array. For test code 9515, we recommend ordering test code 9505, Cancer CMA – 180K CGH/SNP Array.

If you have specific questions regarding this update, please contact your Baylor Genetics account representative, call our Client Relations Division at 1-800-411-4363, or email us at help@baylorgenetics.com. Click here For additional CMA test offerings.
